MAN ALIVE MEN'S GATHERING
25 - 27 OCTOBER 2019 / KANGAROO VALLEY, NSW
WHAT IS MAN ALIVE?
MAN ALIVE men's gathering is a weekend away just for men - all men. Away from work, family and social commitments you can spend your time being instead of doing. MAN ALIVE open to all men from any background, religious, political or sexual persuasion. We encourage men to be real with themselves and others in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
You can expect a warm welcome and plentiful conversation and laughter, with many opportunities to get to know yourself and others in a strongly grounded space of respect, growth and trust. We run our gatherings based on the concept of Open Space - where you can offer to host a session, ask for a specific session to be run, or participate where you are called to. This gives us the chance to co-create an agenda for the weekend that suits where we are all at. We also have components of ceremony and home groups, which support us to connect as a whole community and make sense of what we are learning together.
MAN ALIVE is all about choice. You choose what you want to do - be it hosting or attending a session, relaxing, taking quiet time for personal reflection or spending time making new friends. It’s totally up to you.
WHO GOES TO MAN ALIVE?
Men attend MAN ALIVE for a variety of reasons: to learn; to reconnect with friends and make new ones; to escape everyday pressures and feel grounded; to reflect upon life; to engage in physical and uplifting activities; and to heal or grow emotionally or spiritually. Men from 18 to 80+ from all walks of life and careers attend our gatherings. We find there is no typical attendee. What we do find is that men who attend are usually seeking a better way to define themselves and a better way to live their lives.
Young men between 16 and 18 are welcome to attend if they come with a male family member or mentor. If you are thinking of inviting a young man to Man Alive, or if you are a young man, please contact us first so we can have a conversation about how might best work. Young men cannot be registered online.

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?
MAN ALIVE is being held at "Chakola", a bush camp a few kms from the village of Kangaroo Valley on the South Coast of NSW. We will send you directions when you register. Please note that MAN ALIVE is a drug and alcohol free event. We also cannot have dogs or other pets on the site, as it is a wildlife reserve.
Arrival
We ask that you arrive during our check-in period 4pm - 6pm on Friday and stay until we finish on Sunday at 3pm. Please let us know when you register if you can't make it by 6pm on Friday night. As we work to build a community with high levels of trust, these gatherings work best when men can commit for the full program.
Cost
Our intention is to make the weekend accessible to all men - we have set prices to cover costs and worked hard to keep it affordable. We know that men will have different capacities so please indicate on your rego form if you would like to discuss a supported fee, or if you can offer a bit more to support another man to attend.
"Chakola" has the option of basic cabins to share with another man, or bring your tent (some tents can be provided). Cabin numbers and camping spaces are limited - we need to work on a first come basis. Prices include all meals.
